CryptoProgram's Ed Zimbardi arrested in Fiji, deported to US

Alleged Crypto Ponzi Mastermind Edward Zimbardi Arrested and Deported to U.S. After Years on the Run

Atlanta, GA – Edward Anthony Zimbardi, widely known as “Ed,” the alleged architect behind the multi-million dollar CryptoProgram and Amsys MLM Ponzi schemes, has been apprehended in Fiji and subsequently deported to the United States. This significant development follows a lengthy period of evasion and international pursuit, bringing Zimbardi to face federal charges related to the schemes that reportedly defrauded investors of over $165 million.

The Collapse of Deceptive Schemes

Zimbardi is identified as a convicted felon whose latest ventures, CryptoProgram and Amsys, masqueraded as legitimate investment opportunities promising substantial, fixed returns. Both schemes, which operated on a multi-level marketing (MLM) structure, collapsed in mid-2023, leaving a trail of significant financial losses for countless investors.

CryptoProgram, for instance, touted a revenue generation model based on “goods and services trading” and “online affiliate marketing.” According to its now-defunct website, investors were told that funds from “advertising packages” would be used to “buy goods & services at one price then offer them at another price,” generating a “fixed 25% USDT [Tether] on their crypto month after month.” Amsys operated under similar pretenses, also peddling “advertising packages.”

However, an extensive FBI investigation revealed that these claims were entirely fraudulent. Instead of engaging in genuine trading or advertising, Zimbardi allegedly gambled over $34 million of investor funds on high-risk foreign currency bets, ultimately losing a substantial portion. The schemes functioned as classic Ponzi operations, where funds from new investors were illicitly used to pay purported returns to earlier investors, creating an illusion of profitability. Furthermore, Zimbardi is accused of diverting at least $10 million for lavish personal expenses, including the purchase of a house for his son, luxury vehicles, and alimony payments.

A Fugitive’s Evasion and International Pursuit

Following the collapse of Amsys in mid-2023, Zimbardi reportedly went into hiding, embarking on a globe-trotting evasion strategy that took him through Hawaii, Fiji, and other international locations. In early 2024, Dutch authorities briefly arrested Zimbardi on money laundering charges. However, he was released after interrogation and promptly fled the Netherlands.

His flight continued, eventually leading him to Fiji, where he resided for over a year. The Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed in an August 17th press release that Zimbardi became aware of the FBI’s investigation by July 2025, prompting his flight to the island nation. In a desperate attempt to avoid capture, he reportedly canceled plans to attend his son’s wedding in Virginia in May 2026, correctly suspecting that FBI agents would be lying in wait.

Arrest, Charges, and Ongoing Legal Action

Zimbardi was ultimately apprehended by Fijian authorities following a formal request from the United States, leading to his deportation. He appeared in California on August 17th, facing serious federal charges. According to the DOJ, Zimbardi has been formally charged in a federal indictment with twelve counts of wire fraud, twelve counts of money laundering, and one count of money laundering conspiracy. The DOJ is actively seeking his remand to custody pending further proceedings in Georgia, where the indictment was filed. As of the time of this report, the indictment remains under seal but is expected to be unsealed later this week.

The legal fallout from Zimbardi’s alleged actions extends beyond these federal charges. Earlier this year, the Georgia Commissioner of Securities imposed a $500,000 fine against him. Additionally, Zimbardi, along with notable CryptoProgram promoters Ramon Gemperle and Christopher Livingston, was named in a civil lawsuit filed by a victim in July 2025, which remains pending.

Broader Implications and Victim Outreach

The schemes also involved other prominent figures, including Scott Morris, who became embroiled in a separate legal battle. Morris launched a harassment campaign against reporter Brandon Williams, who extensively covered the CryptoProgram fraud. Williams subsequently filed a lawsuit against Morris in September 2024, seeking $300,000 in damages. This led to an illuminating deposition of Morris in September 2025, which revealed that he had been subpoenaed by the SEC regarding his involvement in CryptoProgram, with the CFTC also present at a subsequent deposition. Williams and Morris reached a private settlement in October 2026.

For those impacted by Zimbardi’s alleged schemes, the FBI is actively seeking assistance in identifying individuals who invested in CryptoProgram and Amsys. The agency is legally mandated to identify victims of federal crimes and can provide information regarding potential services, restitution, and rights under federal and state law. Victims are encouraged to contact the FBI, as their responses, though voluntary, can be crucial to the ongoing investigation and to identify them for potential notification and assistance.

A Warning for Investors

The arrest and indictment of Edward Zimbardi serve as a stark and critical warning for anyone considering online investment opportunities, particularly those within the MLM and cryptocurrency sectors. Schemes promising guaranteed high returns, especially in volatile markets, often mask fraudulent operations designed to enrich their creators at the expense of unsuspecting investors. Due diligence, skepticism towards unrealistic promises, and reliance on regulated and transparent platforms are paramount to safeguarding one’s investments.

Further updates on Zimbardi’s criminal proceedings are anticipated as this high-profile case progresses.

LifeVantage Review / Recommendation

If you landed on this blog and is a distributor already, I can tell you this one thing

Their marketing methods to promote the company and products is a bit out dated.

For example, what they ultimately want you to do is talk to strangers, make a list of friends and family and do 3 way calls to close them on the phone.

There is a must better way…

  • What if you could attract customers that actually want to buy your product?
  • What if you had systems in places that actually follow up on your behalf without you being glued to the phone?
  • What if you could SCALE your business without actually working harder?

If that peaked your interest, I want to show you how you can get customers and sponsor new reps online that want to join you.

The best part is we give every single student a ONE on ONE advisor to make sure they understand the training and systems so they can start implementing as soon as possible.

This is EXACTLY how I went from a over worked car mechanic to building a 7 figure business online without trading time for money anymore.
